چکیده
This paper presents a general testing coverage software reliability modeling framework that covers imperfect debugging and considers not only fault detection processes (FDP) but also correction (FCP). Numerous growth models have evaluated the of over last few decades, most them attached importance to process rather than process. Previous studies analyzed time dependency between modeled as delayed with random or deterministic delay. We study quantitative dual from viewpoint amount instead dependency, then propose generalized along coverage. New are derived by adopting different functions. compared performance these proposed existing under context two kinds failure data, one which includes observations faults detected, other data. Different parameter estimation methods comparison criteria presented according characteristics datasets. No matter what kind results reveal generally give improved descriptive predictive models.

Software reliability analysis incorporating fault detection and debugging activities
Software reliability measurement problem can be approached by obtaining the estimates of the residual number of faults in the software. Traditional black-box based approaches to software reliability modeling assume that the debugging process is instantaneous and perfect. The estimates of the remaining number of faults, and hence reliability, are based on these oversimplified assumptions and the...
متن کاملA Unified Scheme for Modeling Software Reliability with Various Failure Detection and Fault Correction Rates
Many software reliability growth models (SRGMs) have been developed to estimate some useful measures such as the mean value function, number of remaining faults, and failure detection rate. Most of these models have focused on the failure detection process and not given equal priority to modeling the fault correction process. But, most latent software errors may remain uncorrected for a long ti...
متن کاملReliability Analysis of Fault Tolerant Systems with Multi- Fault Coverage
Fault-tolerance has been an essential architectural attribute for achieving high reliability in many critical applications of digital systems. Automatic fault and error handling mechanisms play a crucial role in implementing fault tolerance because an uncovered (undetected) fault may lead to a system or a subsystem failure even when adequate redundancy exists. Examples of this effect can be fou...
متن کاملCoverage-based testing strategies and reliability modeling for fault-tolerant software systems
Software permeates our modern society, and its complexity and criticality is ever increasing. Thus the capability to tolerate software faults, particularly for critical applications, is evident. While fault-tolerant software is seen as a necessity, it also remains as a controversial technique and there is a lack of conclusive assessment about its effectiveness. This thesis aims at providing a q...
متن کاملFault tolerant system with imperfect coverage, reboot and server vacation
This study is concerned with the performance modeling of a fault tolerant system consisting of operating units supported by a combination of warm and cold spares. The on-line as well as warm standby units are subject to failures and are send for the repair to a repair facility having single repairman which is prone to failure. If the failed unit is not detected, the system enters into an unsafe...
